Minutes of Meeting Held on Saturday the 18th of April 2009.
- The meeting commenced with a welcome address by the President of the Alumnae Association. Sister Ponnamma, Mother Superior of Loreto Convent Shillong and Chief Patron of the LAAS, was introduced to everyone present. Mrs C. Nongrum, Principal, was out of station for some work and sent her apologies for being unable to attend.
- Miss Sela Khathing, Vice President, LAAS, presented a bouquet to Sister Ponnamma. Miss S. Khathing also presented a cheque of Rs. 1, 00,000/- to Sister Ponnamma on behalf of LAAS to the school. This amount was raised at an Evening of Music by AROHA in May 2008
- Mrs. Pauline Warjri, Core Member LAAS handed over calendars to Mrs Dondor War Tariang, who accepted them on behalf of the principal. The Calendars were donated by members of the alumnae association.
- Mrs Esther Syiem presented the invitation cards to Sister Ponnamma, for the principal and for Mother Provincial and the Community.
- The President J. Nampuii, handed over the time to the General Secretary, who very briefly gave an over view of the Budget, which is as follows
- Regarding the centenary celebrations in May, It was made clear to one and all that anyone (LC past pupil) was free to attend all the programmes organised by the school on any day between the 18th and 23rd may. Only the 20th May is strictly for Alumnae Members who have paid their participation fees. i.e attend the alumnae function in school and attend the reunion dinner in the evening at Shillong Club. Those who had not yet been issued their IDs would get them on the 20th May at 10 am.
- The Reunion Brunch will be held on the 20th May at 10:00 AM, dress code semi-formal. Dinner on the 20th May 2009 from 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM at Shillong Club. IDs and dinner coupons a must. dress code Formal. Alumnae Members can bring family members /guest but would have to pay Rs 400/- for each extra person. Undertaking would have to be signed by alumnae members and coupons for dinner will be issued on the 20th May 2009.
- Registration fees of Rs.100/- and Membership fees of Rs500/- would have to be paid regularly. There will be post centenary activities. New elections will be held in September 2009 to elect new Executive Committee Members.
- There will be a Potted Plant Campaign from the 20th - 30th May 2009. These potted plants will be donated to the School. Pots should be clean and plants should have been potted at least 3 months earlier. Target - 200 potted plants.
- The Centenary Souvenir Magazine would have been given free to the alumnae members but the cost of one magazine has gone up to Rs 250/-. 350 copies have been ordered from the school and interested persons may buy them.
- For outstation participants, a One stop Point will be set up from the 16th - 20th May 2009
- There will be no invitees to the school dinner on the 23rd may 2009. The dinner will be exclusively for the Sisters of Loreto Convent, Teachers and Past Pupils.
- An Official Photographer has been arranged for the entire centenary celebrations from the 18th - 23rd May 2009. Anyone interested in taking personal photographs may do so and make necessary payments.
- Different Committees have been setup to see to different aspects of the celebrations. Each Committee is headed by a Convener and all are to work together for the smooth running of the celebrations. we are all ONE and we are working for one cause. We appeal/request Sponsors and Donors to come forward and donate generously.
- A few members enquired about past pupils who had not yet registered and if they could still do so. It was pointed out and stressed that payment for the forth coming celebrations had begun from January 2009 for locals with more than adequate, frequent advertisements in print and electronic media. When the General Secretary sought the opinion of the house, there was a unanimous vote for the last date (registration) for that very day, the 18th April 2009. It was a unanimous decision and was passed. Only out-station pupils could come and register on the 20th May 2009.
- The members then broke up into their different groups/committees with their conveners to discuss and plan different issues. Refreshments were also served.
- All members then signed their undertaking for the dinner on the 20th May and collected their IDs.
- The meeting came to an end with the announcement for :-

- Choir practice for interested past pupils on the 9th May at 1:00 pm

The General Secretary appealed to one and all to generously sponsor and donate in whatever manner possible. Mary Tariang was introduced to all present as the alumnae member who can officially receive/accept /solicit any sponsorship.
