Minutes of Meeting Held on Friday the 4th July 08

Objective
  • Finalization of Events for the Concert on the 19th of July 08
  • Discussion on Centenary Celebrations with representatives from the School.
  • Farewell to Sr Celine.
  • Miscellaneous
Total No of Participants: 16
  • The meeting started with finalization of events for the Fund raising musical concert. The venue was finalized in the Loreto School Hall , on Saturday the 19th of July 08, at 5 pm. Pauline Warjri would perform along with her choir group ‘AROHA’ .

    Mary Tariang and Lisa would finalise the sponsors list, sound and lighting system, proceed with tickets, brochures ,advertisements in newspapers, cable news, hoardings etc .

    Rula Baruah would give the opening speech, Jenny Nampui the vote of thanks on the above mentioned occasion.

    All members were requested to extend their support and helping hand to make the event a success.

  • On behalf of LAAS , Clarissa , extended a warm welcome and congratulated the new principal of Loreto School , Catherine Nongrum . Other representatives from the school were also present for the meeting . Dates for the Centenary Celebrations were concurred effectively from the 16th of May 2009 . Further details would be worked out on subsequent meetings.
  • Other details discussed on the evening included :
    • A resolution was signed by members for opening a bank account for LAAS with HDFC, Police Bazaar.
    • Decision was made to include a Rs 50/- monthly subscription fees ,the annual subscription fees would be Rs 500/- and for lifetime subscription the rate would be Rs 5000/- for registered members of LAAS . The registration fees for new members remains at Rs 100 / -.
  • A warm farewell address was given to Sr Celine by Jenny Nampui for her great devotion, love and tireless efforts to bring the members of LAAS work together in one banner for the Centenary Celebrations of Loreto Shillong.

    Sr Celine encouraged the members to carry on with the preparations for Centenary of the school and placed her confidence that inspite of her transfer to Delhi , the work will proceed with greater vigor and coordination among all members.

  • The meeting concluded with tea and refreshments for the evening.

    The next meeting would be held on Saturday the 2nd of August in the School Library at 2.30 pm . The agenda for the meeting would be

    • Taking stock of the outcome of the concert held on 19th July 08.
    • Finalizing the Date for the upcoming Annual General Meeting of LAAS.
    • Miscellaneous.
