MINUTES
- It was suggested that the website should be accessible easily. For instance having a common user name and password by the registered members of the alumni or the ex-students, it will be easier to interact (chat) even with the ex-students who do not know each other, to get a chance to know one another.
Feasibility of the same will be looked upon by the core members.
- In the publicity issue it was decided to make the best of every opportunity to spread the idea around for the school centenary. Few ideas suggested are scrolling of news item in local cable networks. FM Radio Station O la la was also suggested for a great break with the publicity.
- The dates for the centenary celebration were suggested for 1st of May till the 7th. Another date which was suggested was in October during the Puja holidays from the 6th till the 11th. But the dates in May were suggested to be more comfortable since it’s not close to exams for the student in Shillong unlike October and it’s the beginning of the academic year as well. May was also chosen for another reason since the outstation students have summer vacations.
- Food stall on school fete day was also suggested for this coming month of May.
- The school will be having their school sports day on the 9th April and keeping this in mind a decision was made to have a food stall from the alumni members in aid of the centenary celebration. The stall can also have the publicity for the centenary. It was also decided Mary Tariang would be the in charge for the food stall.
- In regard to magazines a very interesting idea had come up about the photographs which can be collected by the ex students and can have a sort of a comparison between the old and the new photographs and can call it ‘then and now’.
- Another event was suggested, painting competition for kids. This can also be taken to the general public.
- Walkathon or a run for the centenary by ex and present students of Loreto is also an important event which was chalked out.
- Food fest which was forgotten was again remembered and was decided to have the event whenever All Saints would have availability for the venue. Having school itself as the venue did come up but the location of All Saints being at the center was preferred.
- A written permission from the DC is required for collecting donations in behalf of the alumni for the centenary celebration. This matter is asked to be taken care of by Sr. Celine.
- In the contribution/donation subject it was outlined that the alumni account no. was to be put up in the website so that it would be easy to receive international as well as national contributions/donations, but this would be after attaining the permission from the DC.
- A dinner for the committee members was also decided to be hosted soon.
The next meeting will be held on the 5th of April at 2:30 pm.
